White River Throwdown
Region Fishing and Southern Draw Cigars host an invite-only, all-inclusive guided fishing experience on the world-famous White River. Limited to 24 anglers, the Throwdown combines guided float trips, a live catch-and-release tournament tracked in real time, premium cigars, and lodging at a first-class riverfront lodge. Prizes include fly rods, reels, fly line, and branded swag.
Mountain Home Red, White & Blue Festival
Mountain Home's signature summer celebration combines a downtown parade, live concerts, a rodeo, car shows, kids' activities, local food vendors, and one of the region's best fireworks displays on Saturday night. Held on the ASU-Mountain Home campus, the Red, White & Blue Festival draws families from across north-central Arkansas and southern Missouri — making it one of the strongest demand drivers for summer lodging in the Twin Lakes region.
80th Annual Yellville Turkey Trot Festival
One of the Ozarks' longest-running and most beloved fall traditions, the Yellville Turkey Trot celebrates its 80th year in 2026. The festival transforms Yellville's town square with a downtown parade, live bluegrass and country music, a 5K run/walk, a nationally recognized turkey calling competition, artisan craft vendors, and regional food. Set against the fall foliage of the Ozark Mountains, it's an ideal extension to any mid-October White River stay.
ARktoberfest — Mountain Home
Rapp's Barren Brewing Company hosts ARktoberfest on the Mountain Home Square — a German-inspired fall festival featuring the Beer Mile Run, guest craft breweries from across Arkansas, live music, Leederhosing, a Kids Zone, and local food vendors. It's a lively complement to a fall White River fishing trip and pairs well with Turkey Trot weekend for guests looking to extend their stay.
White River Marathon, Half Marathon & 5K
The 23rd Annual White River Marathon brings runners from across the country to Cotter for a flat, fast course along the White River. A certified Boston Qualifier with registration capped at 800, the event also includes a Half Marathon and a 5K. Packet pickup and a pasta dinner are held the Friday evening prior at Cotter Schools. The race finishes in Big Spring Park.
